About this page
Sight words are the words children learn to read on sight rather than sound out: the, said, you, where. A few minutes of cards each day is how most classrooms teach them.
Pick a list, from Dolch pre-primer to third grade or Fry’s first 100, or type your own words, and print cards with cut lines. Shuffle for a new set every time.
Cut along the dotted lines. Read each card out loud, then use it again tomorrow.

Keep the cards the child reads instantly in one pile and the slow ones in another; practice the slow pile.
